I am really new at this, and before I get in to deep, I would like to know a few things. What kind of pellets do cardboard make. I have a unlimited supply of cardboard. And second, I have seen lots of videos on making pellet, and they never fill the hopper on top of the mill. They only put in like a hand full at a time, is this how slow you have to fill the mill, or is this just in the video

Hi Ed
Cardboard makes a good pellet, it makes a little more ash then hardwood pellets. As for the hopper, it depends on the material and the moisture. As fast as you can dump it it will pump out pellets. Any more info email me at Jeff.Ide@makeyourownpellets.comPosted 8 months ago # -

JIDE.. the email addy you keep posting does not work.
I have a question about the cardboard pellets...
First; grinding them up ... would a small tree chipper/shredder do the trick? Too much, too little?
(one of those personal home use shredders with the little lawnmower engine)Second, would mixing them with sawdust be a good idea?
I saw you posted that they make a little more ash than regular wood pellets... how much more, and do you think that mixing them, say 50/50 with wood sawdust make a difference?
