Did anyone ever change the clutch on the mill? When remounting the friction plate (which sits on the six springs) when screwing the nuts on the forks, how much tension must be on that friction plate ?
Thanks
George

HELP! PLEASE! i bought a used pp600w.. i know. anyways, blew the bottom end apart, had a machine shop make a new part and it mics out perfect. Now I can't figure out how it goes back together. The problem is the part that holds the gear to the bottom of the shaft. When u put that part on there is a bolt that should thread onto the shaft. if u put the part on and thread the bolt on, the gear is too high to reinstall the input gear from the side. Is everyone confused now? any help is appreciated. P.S. without reading your forum i would still be making 3 lbs./hr. thank u.
if you talking about the ring gear that presses onto the main (only) vertical shaft, the casting doesn't press on til it's flush. mine has a 1/4" between end of shaft and the casting. take the side cover off so you can see the gears splining together and adjust up or down until there is no play when you rock the shaft back and forth. i think this is what you meant? viper
Hi neuey,Viper is right,There should also be two spanner nuts above were the ring gear goes on the shaft. The top nut goes up tight against the bearing to hold the shaft in place. The bottom nut sets the backlash on the ring gear turn the nut down to tighten the backlash. After you set the backlash tighten the bolt in the end of the shaft. Any promblems email me your phone # and I will give you a call. jeff.ide@makeyourownpellets.com
